Reiki

Lloyd is a Reiki Master / Teacher, his journey with Reiki in this lifetime began over twenty years ago. He received the Reiki I and Reiki II attunements and participated in several Reiki retreats in Maryland in the late 1990's early 2000's. Life choices would take him away from actively participating in a Reiki practice until many years later. In 2013, when life seemed over, he was reunited with Reiki once again and he began to remember who he was and why he was here. He was re-attuned to Reiki I and Reiki II, and then to Master / Teacher level. He now passes his knowledge and experience on to the new generation of reiki healers stepping into their power.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese healing art that was synthesized into being by Mikao Usui in the late 1800's in Japan. Mikao Usui was a devout Buddhist, who, in his intense desire to understand and work with methods of medicine and healing, developed Reiki.

"Reiki" is a Japanese word for the concept: "Universal Life Energy". Reiki's initial stages can be learned by anyone regardless of their personal philosophy and/or spiritual belief system. Through the initiations of Reiki comes a "re-awakening", a re-opening of the stronger healing potential that lies within us all.

Reiki can relieve pain and acute problems quite rapidly. Chronic illnesses may take a series of treatments, depending on the specific nature of the disease. Whatever manifests itself physically usually also has components on the emotional, mental, and spiritual levels.

Reiki is a simple, yet powerful Eastern Medicine healing technique. According to the National Institutes of Health, Reiki is classified as “Bio-field Medicine”, which involves systems that use subtle energy fields in and around the body for medical purposes.” Reiki has been in use in the United States since the 1930’s. Reiki is a touch therapy and relaxation technique and one of the fastest growing forms of Energy Medicine around the world.

Reiki uses non- invasive techniques, which encourages the relaxation response. The “relaxation response,” can diminish anxiety, pain, nausea and fatigue, and can enhance the healing process. The physiological changes resulting from the “relaxation response” can boost the function of the immune system and increase a sense of well – being.
